Gas and electric ranges: models and access
Gas and electric ranges use different heating parts. We identify the design and full model before researching a repair. Similar knobs, a brand name or the cabinet width do not confirm the correct part. Leave electrical covers and gas connections in place for the assessment.
A freestanding range can have tight clearances even when it looks easy to move. A slide-in model may also meet the counter and trim closely. Show the surrounding cabinets and floor in a wide photo. Do not pull the range forward just to expose the back or find a label.
Tell us about access limits before the appointment. A narrow route, nearby island or limited door clearance can affect the plan. You can send label details from a place you can safely reach. If the model is not yet clear, state that rather than guessing from a similar product.
Repair the fault or replace the range?
