Stop and Escalate Immediate Safety Concerns
Leave the building and contact emergency services or the appropriate utility from a safe location if a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds, you suspect a fuel-gas leak, or anyone has acute symptoms that may require medical care. Turn HVAC equipment off only when it is safe to do so if you see smoke, overheated wiring, water at energized components, or another active electrical hazard. Do not use an indoor air quality appointment as an emergency response or medical decision.
